Nikos Pressas was born in Patras in 1952. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts, painting in the studio of Giorgos Mavroeidis and scenography with Vassilis Vassiliadis. He completed his postgraduate studies in Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art at UNIVERSITE PARIS I PANTHEON-SORBONNE in 1987. He has also pursued parallel studies in violin in Patras, Athens, and Paris, and has published articles in Parisian art magazines. From the age of 14, he practiced and studied the art of Iconography under the guidance of his father, the painter and iconographer Andreas Pressas. From 1997 to 2019, he taught Aesthetic Education at the University of Patras, in the Department of Primary Education. Additionally, he taught painting at the Visual Arts Workshop of the Municipality of Patras from 2014 to 2017.
