Giovanni Valla was born in Calabria, Italy, in 1946 and passed away in Patras in 2001. He was a student of the Spaniard Antonio Argineghin and a friend of many recognized painters. For many years, he engaged in a personal exploration of color and sculpture with the goal of achieving a harmonious sense of color and form. He was a cosmopolitan bohemian who loved Patras deeply and lived there for approximately 20 years. He enjoyed painting on paper and rarely on canvas, using watercolor, enamel, and gouache colors.
