Paris \u2013 Alexandros Prekas was born in Athens in 1926. He graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts in 1952, where he studied painting with teachers such as Dimitris Biskinis, Andreas Georgiadis, and Umberto Argyro. In 1957 and 1959, he was distinguished with honors and a painting award in Paris, and in 1962, he was awarded the silver medal of the city of Paris at the Salon de l\u2019Art Libre. In 1963, he went to Paris to continue his studies with a scholarship from the French government. In his early artistic work, he created representational pieces featuring boats and Greek landscapes, establishing himself as our quintessential travel painter. Later on, he transitioned to abstract forms through thematic cycles such as ports, horses, and tankers.
