Boris Vladimirsky was born in Kiev, Ukraine, in 1878. He studied at the School of Painting of N.I. Murashko in Kiev in 1898, at the Kiev College of Art in 1900, and at the Academy of Arts and A. Azbe's school in Munich in 1904. He began exhibiting his work in 1906 and became a member of the AKhRR (Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia) in 1922. His significant exhibitions include the "Anti-Imperialist Exhibition" in Moscow in 1931, "Artists of the Russian Federation Over Fifteen Years" in Moscow in 1933, "Fifteen Years of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army" in Moscow in 1933, and "Twenty Years of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army" in Moscow in 1938. Boris Vladimirsky also taught at the Polytechnic Institute in Yekaterinoslav in 1917. He passed away in Moscow in 1950.
